Preventive Care

We're dedicated to maintaining and improving your health and well-being. In an effort to do this, we recommend the following services:

Men and Women

  • Regular Primary Care Physician (definition) Visits
  • Annual Influenza Injections
  • Pneumococcal injections every five to six years
  • Cholesterol Screening (every two years beginning at age 20)
  • Blood pressure measurement (every two years beginning at age 18)
  • Sigmoidoscopy (every three to five years beginning at age 50)
  • Stool for Occult Blood (annually after age 50)

Women Only

  • Mammograms (every two years ages 40 - 51, annually after age 52)
  • Annual Well Women visits

Men Only

  • PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) Test (beginning at age 50)
  • Digital Rectal Exams (annually after age 40)

Diabetic Patients

  • Glycosylated Hemoglobin - HbA1c (every three months)
  • Lipid Profile (annually)
  • Microalbuminuria (annually)
  • Retinal Eye Exam (annually)
  • Foot exam (annually)
  • Blood Sugar Checks - check with your physician regarding the frequency of these checks
