Group Purchasing Organizations
(Broadlane and Premier)
Peoples Health has partnered with two group purchasing organizations to offer discounts on purchases of medical, surgical and pharmaceutical supplies. These discounts apply to items you purchase through your existing vendor relationships. Broadlane and Premier are both cost-management companies that work with manufacturers and distributors to negotiate group-buying discounts. These lower-priced contracted items provide an average savings of 15 to 30 percent.
What are the sample savings?
The PHN Association tested the potential savings from both Broadlane and Premier by obtaining a list of sample medical supplies and pharmaceuticals, purchased locally by a Peoples Health primary care physician. We then asked Broadlane and Premier to price the market basket with their group purchasing pricing. The totaled results were dramatic in the percentage of savings and the total dollars that would have been saved if the provider had been a member of either group purchasing organization.
What about office equipment discounts?
With your Broadlane and/or Premier membership through Peoples Health, you will also have access to discounts on office equipment, business supplies and services from companies such as:

How do I sign up?
Please download, print and complete one or both of the participation forms below and fax it to the PHN Association at (504) 849-6933. Our staff will obtain your group purchasing member number from the group purchasing organization and will contact your office with this information.

What happens next?
After we have received your completed participation form and obtained your group purchasing member number, our staff will contact the sales representatives of the vendors you indicate and ask them to create an account for you or to update your existing account to ensure that you can begin to receive savings.
We will provide you with a list of contact phone numbers for working with the pharmaceutical distributors that you select, as well as provide you with the contact information necessary for taking advantage of the PHN Association discounts through Dell Computers, Xerox Corporation and other ancillary business service providers.
In addition to utilizing services from the group purchasing vendors, your staff may continue to work directly with your current medical and surgical supplier representatives.
Office Depot Business Services - Office Supplies
Negotiated discounts on items from Office Depot are available to all Peoples Health providers at no commitment and for no charge. Your office will be able to take advantage of the PHN Association's pricing while utilizing all of Office Depot's corporate services!
You can order supplies via telephone or online, or purchase the supplies in the store.
Current physician participants utilizing the PHN Association's discount program with Office Depot have experienced an average savings of 37 percent off the retail pricing of common office products on their initial Office Depot orders. What is Tech Depot?
Office Depot has a new online business technology unit called Tech Depot. Tech Depot provides hardware, software, licensing, networking and many other computer product needs. When you become an Office Depot account holder, you are automatically eligible for a Tech Depot account. Billing from any products you purchased from Tech Depot will come through Office Depot.
